Pool leak detection and repair in Lafayette, Moraga & Orinda

A pool that drops more than evaporation explains is wasting water and money, and on Lamorinda's hillside lots a slow plumbing leak can undermine the soil around the pad. We start with a bucket test and a careful look before anyone talks about digging.

What you're probably seeing

Losing more than a quarter inch a day

That is beyond normal summer evaporation and worth investigating.

Wet ground near the equipment

Usually unions, valves or the pump and filter seals — the cheapest leaks to fix.

Auto-fill running constantly

The fill valve hides the loss until the water bill shows up.

Cracked tile line or skimmer throat

Common with ground movement on hillside lots in Orinda and Moraga.

What the work covers

  • Bucket testing and evaporation comparison so we know it is truly a leak
  • Equipment pad leak repair: unions, valves, seals and plumbing
  • Skimmer throat and return fitting sealing
  • Pressure testing of suction and return lines
  • Coordination with a specialist for structural or under-deck repairs when needed

How we handle it

  1. 1. Confirm the loss

We measure real loss against evaporation before selling you a leak hunt.

  2. 2. Isolate the source

Pad, plumbing, skimmer or shell — we narrow it down in order of likelihood and cost.

  3. 3. Repair and re-test

We fix what we can on site and re-measure the water level to confirm the leak is gone.

Questions we hear a lot

How do I know if my pool is really leaking?
Fill a bucket, set it on a step so the water levels match inside and out, and compare after 24 hours with the auto-fill off. If the pool drops noticeably more than the bucket, you have a leak — and we are glad to walk you through it on the phone.
Where are pool leaks usually found?
Most start at the equipment pad — unions, valves and seals. Those are the fastest and cheapest to fix, so that is where we look first.
Do you repair leaks or only find them?
We repair everything at the pad and most plumbing and fitting leaks. If it turns out to be structural or under the deck, we tell you straight and help you line up the right specialist.
Are hillside pools in Orinda more leak-prone?
Ground movement on steep lots does stress plumbing and skimmer throats over time, so yes, we see it more often there.
